Fashion designer Margarita Kozak has been known in Ukraine since 2001 as the author of numerous clothing collections, recognized with numerous awards from international and all-Ukrainian fashion competitions and festivals.
Margarita became the first resident of Zhytomyr to showcase her collection at the New York Fashion Week. Her capsule collection, "Polesia," became one of the twelve collections of the National Patriotic Project "Fashion Globus Ukraine" showcased during the fashion week in New York. The goal of this large-scale project, which involved many well-known Ukrainian fashion designers, was to create a unified fashion image of modern Ukraine based on the traditional national costume specific to different regions of the country.
Margarita Kozak's debut collection, "Waltz of Flowers," was first showcased on the runway on April 28, 2001. She considers this day as the birthday of her brand, although she has been engaged in clothing design throughout her conscious life. Her initial interest in the future profession emerged when she was only four years old and was expressed through an endless flow of drawings of princesses dressed in exquisite long dresses.
At the core of Margarita Kozak's well-recognized signature style lies femininity. Constantly seeking pure natural beauty and harmony, the designer remarkably blends the boldest trends of contemporary fashion with a soft touch. At the same time, Margarita's creativity is characterized by a bold search for unconventional solutions. She developed her first proprietary authoring techniques while studying fashion design at university. Special crochet knitting methods, painted knitting, innovative decorative elements in clothing—all these ideas found their reflection in the designer's initial collections. Since then, an inexhaustible desire to explore new horizons is felt in each of her new clothing collections.
Creating exclusive garments is far from being the designer's only sphere of activity. Paying homage to the natural inclination of an artist to create works of art, Margarita actively collaborates with theaters. The theatrical costumes of numerous productions, meticulously crafted by Margarita Kozak, represent a true quintessence of characters, reflecting their roles, intentions, and personalities.
Another beloved sphere of the designer's activity is stage costume design. Many renowned and beloved Ukrainian artists, groups, and choirs have appeared in dresses and costumes by Margarita Kozak.
Margarita Kozak is the founder and President of the annual All-Ukrainian Fashion Festival "Fashion Friends," held in Zhytomyr. The mission of the festival is to provide a creative platform for young talents among students of specialized universities—future clothing designers. The first participants of the festival were Margarita's top classmates—winners and awardees of international fashion competitions and festivals. Over the course of a few years, the geography of festival participants expanded to an international level.
