Fashion Friends

Every self-respecting big city has its own fashion day, and in some cases, even a fashion week. Such an event always becomes a vibrant occasion in the life of the city - it gives a long-awaited holiday to local fashion enthusiasts and attracts many interesting guests from all over the country. In Zhytomyr, the role of the event defining the fashionable face of the city is played by the International Fashion Festival "Fashion Friends."

The history of the fashion festival in Zhytomyr began back in 2003. As a student at the Podilia Technological University, clothing designer Margarita Kozak actively and quite successfully participated in international and all-Ukrainian fashion competitions and festivals. Over time, the realization that all these wonderful events were taking place anywhere but in her hometown became a call to action for the proactive student. Setting herself a grand goal, Margarita Kozak became the founder and president of the "Fashion Friends" fashion festival.

The participants of the first festival were the most talented classmates of Margarita Kozak. Only prize winners of international fashion competitions and festivals received invitations to participate. Thus, from the beginning, the festival set the highest professional level. Thorough selection of participants and collections became a distinguishing feature of the "Fashion Friends" fashion festival.

It is worth noting that in 2003, even an ordinary fashion show in Zhytomyr was a novelty. Therefore, it is quite natural that the fashion festival, which gathered a constellation of bright young designers with avant-garde collections, became a real sensation!

Margarita Kozak puts in maximum effort to make each subsequent "Fashion Friends" fashion festival more interesting, vibrant, and grandiose than the previous one. In just six years, the festival has gone from nightclubs to the stage of the regional philharmonic and the Zhytomyr Drama Theater. The lineup of participants has significantly expanded - many promising designers from all over Ukraine and beyond have joined the club of fashion university friends. The status of the festival changed first to All-Ukrainian and then to International. The mission of the festival remains unchanged - popularizing Ukrainian fashion and introducing the people of Zhytomyr to the work of the most talented young clothing designers who represent the future of the domestic fashion industry.
