2004 NEW MOHICANS
The mixed art collection haute couture "New Mohicans" is the designer's diploma cloth collection.
The modern Mohicans, revived by Margarita Kozak, are not warriors like their noble ancestors, but children of the Sun, striving for love, harmony and perfection. The beauty in their style is combined with practicality. They wear jeans and crochet ponchos, with sacred patterns of the Sun, important to the Mohicans. Creating those unique ponchos, Margarita Kozak used one of her author's techniques - painting through knitting.
The designer boldly experiments with materials and clothing elements. In the process of creating the collection, Margarita Kozak developed a completely new constructive and decorative clothing element - she merged a knitted hat ushanka and a knitted poncho into one entity.
The collection won the Grand Prix in the "Folk Fashion" category at the International fashion project "PAROM Spring/Summer 2005" (Kharkiv).
